Rendering is the process of generating a photorealistic or non-photorealistic image from a 2D or 3D model by means of a computer program. 3D modeling and rendering are two consecutive stages of the same process: while 3D modeling is the process of creating geometric representations of objects (or models) using computer software that can accurately describe every surface and detail of an object in all three dimensions, rendering is simply the representation of the modeled 3D objects into a video, animated model or high-quality image.
